We have a basic blueprint of trusted partners that we work with, but each journey with Wild Vine is ultimately designed around you. We begin with a detailed consultation to understand your interests — from wine preferences and fitness levels to the pace of travel you enjoy and any bucket lists sights and sounds you would like included. Whether you prefer private vineyard tastings, mountain biking through the winelands, or sunrise safaris, your itinerary is handcrafted to reflect your rhythm and style.
What does “off the beaten track” mean? Can we still see the iconic sites?
Our routes reveal the quieter, more authentic side of South Africa — family-run wine estates, hidden passes, and intimate lodges. We’ll never deny you the classics though and Table Mountain, Cape Point or Addo’s elephants can all be woven into your visit. How small (or big) are your groups?
Most journeys are private or limited to small groups of 2–6 guests, ensuring a more personal connection with the people and places you encounter. Larger groups can be accommodated on request, but intimacy is our hallmark. - Perfect
Is anything included beyond accommodation and the listed activities?
Yes — many of our experiences include private tastings, guided excursions, and curated dining moments that aren’t listed line by line. We also coordinate any local logistics, so you can focus entirely on the journey itself.
How far in advance should we book?
We recommend securing your trip 3-4 months in advance, as this allows us time to reserve lodges and activities that often fill up months ahead.
Do you arrange everything from arrival to departure, or just specific experiences?
We can manage the full itinerary — from your airport arrival to your final farewell — or tailor specific segments of your journey. Our flexibility ensures the experience fits seamlessly into your travel plans - great!
What is the best time of year to visit?
South Africa is a year-round destination with sunshine, good vibes and lasting memories a staple from Cape Town to Kariega. The Winelands are probably best visited from September to April, as the Mediterranean climate can bring cold, wet winters. Our wildlife adventures are generally Eastern Cape based and action packed pretty much all year round. November is traditionally considered the wettest, windiest month, when big game tends to hide away in the thick bush.
Can you accommodate dietary or accessibility needs?
Absolutely. We work closely with our lodge and culinary partners to accommodate all dietary preferences and accessibility requirements. Please let us know in advance so we can tailor arrangements accordingly.
What’s your background — how did you come to know these winemakers and game wardens?
Wild Vine was founded through long-standing relationships with South Africa’s most respected winemakers, conservationists, and hospitality leaders. These are people we’ve got to know personally through our own work and experience in the wine and wildlife industries and are partners who share our belief in authenticity, sustainability, and the art of storytelling through experience.
Can we meet you during the trip, or do local guides lead the experience?
Depending on your itinerary, you may be welcomed personally by one of our founders or our trusted regional partners. On the ground, local experts — often winemakers, rangers, and guides themselves — bring each chapter of your journey to life.
